Open water swimming

 Good evening

       With the impending school summer holidays quickly approaching. I would just like to take this opportunity to advice parents about the dangers of open water swimming.

       We have noticed numerous people making there way to local quarries etc on hot days, hoping to cool off in the numerous man made pools we have around Rossendale. 

       This may seem like a good idea at the time but these pools are completely unsafe. People can quickly get into trouble due to unseen obstacles, freezing water temperature below the surface and hazardous surfaces. There have been numerous fatalities at other sites around the UK, please, let's not have one in Rossendale. Educate your children and make sure you know where they are at all times.
